Summer seminar of Traditional and Byzantine music
In Athens, Tettix school, it will organise a summer seminar of Traditional and Byzantine music from 4th of July until 9th of July. Prominent professors, everyone in his field, will develop documented theories through numerous examples and experiential activities.The courses are daily from 17.00 to 22.00 in the beautiful neoclassical building located on the street Lisiou no. 9 in Aerides in Plaka. Teachers: Konstantinos Markos (the rate in traditional music), Gregory Ntaravanoglou (chanting art in Istanbul), George Lykouras (numbers and music), Periklis Papapetropoulos (theory and practice of makams), Manolis Karpathios (technical of the canun), George Tzanetos (percussion in traditional music), George Pappas (ensembles). The president of the school TETIX, George Naoum, is pleased to announce the opening of the subscription for the academic year 2015-16. 		2nd Kanun seminar by Manolis Karpathios Kalymnos 23-30 August, 2009 After the great success of the kanun seminar in Symi came the invitation of the Mayor of Kalimnos and the 2nd kanun seminar is taking place. From August 23-30 in the charming Kalymnos, Manolis Karpathios will teach modern techniques of the kanun in musician from all over Greece. The seminar is co-organised by the Association of Symi and Yannis Megaloudiwho will provide expertise and experience from the first seminar. The increased demand for participation shows the upward trend of the institution in our country and the thirst of the world source for musical expressions associated with ancient Greek and Byzantine music treatise.
