In Symi island Giannis Megaloudis The new CD has been released with traditional songs of Symi island, with Yiannis Megaloudis. Well-known, beloved sounds touch every Symian and Dodecanese listener. Original tunes, played by the leading musicians of the Dodecanese. In violin and santuri, the patriarch of Dodecanese music, George Hadjipetros. Along with him Manolis Kotoros and Sotiris Margonis and in the lute Yiannis Megaloudis who sings Symian songs and he is also the 'soul' of the entire record label. Dikaia Maravelia and Stelios Kassotis with their song are delightfully dressed for the release. After many years for Symi has been released and it is very moving that come to the surface rythms such as Koukoumas, Nanou, Bournovalis, Parmiotis and others. It continues a record label that holds the first record releases of America in 1916 with George Nisyrio, continues with the Hatzidakis and Karabesini families, and reaches the younger Kostas Kontos and Kyriakos Bayramis to Yannis Megaloudis. A great contribution is the revival and recording of the Symi Lyra built and played by Yiannis Megaloudis, rescuing a tradition that had been lost by Symi for fifty years. The music is curated by the renowned musicologist Manolis Karpathos and the publication's advisor is the active man of culture, Manolis Kyriazakos. The cd is released by Nektari Konti's "Polyheia". |
